From Science to Survival

"For four days in May 2006, more than 2000 delegates and faculty got together in Stavanger, Norway, to get the latest update, discuss the new guidelines and take a look into the future in the field of resuscitation. The congress entered the history of ERC as the largest ever held, and had a significant international quality with delegates fron nearly 60 different nations.

The highlights from the social programme are plenty. Something worth remembering is the warm summernight with jazz music and mingling at Hall Toll and Flor & Fjaere on the day of arrival. The experience when more than 800 delegates witnessed several search and rescue operations from veteran vessels in the spectacular fjords of Stavanger. The grand opening of SAFER - Stavanger Acute medicine Foundation of Education and Research. And not to mention, the moving concert at Utstein Abbey - the medieval monastery located on an island near Stavanger and the site for not only this year’s but several Utstein Meetings."
